Kuldiga is one of the most beautiful towns in Latvia.
The castle of Kuldiga was build in the middle of the 13th Century.
Kuldiga from 1600 was the capital of the Duchy of Courland (Kurzeme).
The castle was in 1702 during the Great War with Sweden destroyed.
The pride of Kuldiga is the ancient brick bridge across the River Venta (built 1873-1874, restored 2008) and the old town with its buildings dating from the 17th and 18 Century. Because of this historically valuable buildings and the bridge are included in the list of UNESCO - World Heritage register. From the bridge you can reach the widest waterfall in Europe admire.
